I am so happy that DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME is back. I have missed you so much. Why? Because all of my best memories are connected to DST. As a child my mother would let me run wild and barefoot through our neighborhood until late thirty. The only thing that could bring me in was the moon. There were about 10 of us wild children who would play hide and seek and cowboys and indians until the moon was high in the night sky. It was then that all the lights would come on in our homes and mother's would stand in the front yard calling our names. On those special nights we would hurry home gobble our dinner, half-way bathe (does soaking in Mr. Bubble count?) and plop down in front of our T.V.'s to watch Batman, Beverly Hillbilles, Bewitched or Petticoat Junction. Bedtime in the Summer was a scandalous 9:30. I always slept with my windows open and would wake up to my white eyelet curtains stirring in the breeze and the sweet perfume of orange trees filling my little room.
For me DST means a a slower pace, more time to play, and freedom. Welcome back friend.
